Variants & Options
Most physical products come in variations — different sizes, colors, or materials. Sokobuni handles this through Options and Variants.
Options vs Variants
Options define the dimensions of variation (e.g. "Size", "Color").
Variants are the specific combinations (e.g. "Small / Red", "Large / Blue").
A product with options Size: S, M, L and Color: Red, Blue would have 6 variants (every combination).
Adding options
Editing individual variants
After generating, you can edit each variant to:
- Set a price — variants can have different prices (e.g. XL costs more than S)
- Set a SKU — your internal product code for inventory management
- Set stock quantity — how many units you have of each variant
- Mark as out of stock — uncheck "Manage inventory" to always show as available
Pricing variants
You can set one price for all variants (simplest) or different prices per variant (e.g. for premium sizes):
- Click the variant you want to price
- Click + Add price
- Select your currency (KES, USD, etc.)
- Enter the amount
Enter prices as whole numbers without currency symbols. 2500 = KSh 2,500 on a Kenya-configured store, or $25.00 on a USD store. The currency is set per region in your store settings.
Single-variant products
If your product has no variation (e.g. a single-size item), skip the options step and just add one variant directly with a price. The storefront won't show a variant selector when there's only one.
Reordering and deleting variants
- To reorder: drag the handle (⋮⋮) on the left of each variant row
- To delete: open the variant, scroll to the bottom, click Delete. Orders placed for this variant won't be affected.
