What is Sokobuni?
Sokobuni is an e-commerce platform you deploy on your own domain. It lets you sell physical goods, digital downloads, and services — all from one admin dashboard, under your own brand and URL.
Your store runs at a domain you control (e.g. shop.yourbrand.com). Your admin panel runs at a separate admin URL provided during setup. Customers never see "Sokobuni" — they see your brand.
What you can sell
Product types
- Physical products — clothes, crafts, electronics, food, anything that ships
- Digital downloads — eBooks, music, presets, software, templates
- Services — consultations, lessons, design work, photography sessions
Store configurations
Sokobuni can be configured differently depending on your market and product mix:
Standard store — Multi-currency checkout, card payments, standard flat-rate shipping. Best for sellers targeting a global or regional audience.
Kenya-configured store — KES pricing, PesaPal payments (M-Pesa, Visa, Airtel), county-based shipping across all 47 Kenya counties, and optional phone/OTP login for customers. Built for the local market.
If your customers are primarily in Kenya, ask your platform administrator to confirm your store is Kenya-configured — it unlocks KES pricing, county shipping rates, and Africa's Talking SMS notifications.
Your admin dashboard
Everything is managed from your admin panel. From there you can:
- Create and manage products
- Process orders and issue refunds
- Set up pricing rules and promotions
- View customer records and analytics
- Configure shipping and tax zones
Your admin panel URL is set during store setup. It's typically admin.yourdomain.com or a similar subdomain. Check with your platform administrator if you're unsure of the URL.
