Create a Service Offering

A service offering is a bookable product β€” customers pick a time slot and you confirm the booking. Examples: photography sessions, consultations, lessons, design reviews.

Creating the service product

1
Create a new product
Go to Products β†’ New product. Fill in the title and description as normal.
2
Set the product type to "Service"
In the settings panel, set Product type to "Service". This disables shipping fields and enables booking settings.
3
Add a variant with duration
Add at least one variant. For services, the variant title typically indicates the duration: "30-minute session", "1-hour session", "Full-day shoot".
4
Set the price
Price per variant is the amount charged at checkout. For Mwanzo (KES), enter e.g. 5000 for KSh 5,000.
5
Configure booking settings
Open the "Service Booking" section. Set the duration (in minutes), your available days and hours, and buffer time between bookings.
6
Publish
Set status to Published. The "Book Now" button will appear on the storefront product page.

Booking settings explained

Duration

How long each session lasts in minutes. This determines how booking slots are sized on your calendar.

Service typeTypical duration
Quick consultation30 minutes
Standard session60 minutes
Half-day workshop240 minutes
Full-day480 minutes

Availability

Select which days of the week you're available and your working hours (e.g. Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm). Customers can only book within these windows.

Buffer time

Minutes between bookings. A 15-minute buffer after a 60-minute session means your next available slot starts 75 minutes after the previous booking begins.

πŸ’‘Tip

Always add buffer time. Even a 15-minute buffer prevents back-to-back sessions with no preparation time.

Multiple service variants

You can offer different lengths at different prices:

  • Variant 1: "30-minute consultation" β€” KSh 2,000
  • Variant 2: "60-minute deep dive" β€” KSh 3,500

Each variant can have its own booking duration.

What the customer sees

On the storefront, the service product shows:

  1. Product image and description (as normal)
  2. A date picker to select their preferred date
  3. Available time slots for that date
  4. Checkout and payment as normal

After payment, they receive a booking confirmation email with the date, time, and any instructions you've added.
