Images & Media

Product images are one of the biggest drivers of purchase decisions. Here's how to upload and manage them effectively.

Uploading images

On the product form, scroll to the Media section and drag-drop your images, or click to browse files.

Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP
Maximum file size: 10MB per image
Recommended dimensions: At least 800×800px, ideally 1200×1200px

1
Drag images into the Media section
You can upload multiple images at once. They upload in parallel and appear as thumbnails.
2
Set the thumbnail image
The first image in the list is the thumbnail shown in catalogue listings. Drag to reorder — put your best photo first.
3
Add alt text
Click any image and add alt text. This improves accessibility and helps with SEO. Describe what's in the image (e.g. "Brown leather wallet folded open showing card slots").
4
Save the product
Images are stored in S3 and served via CDN. They appear on the storefront within seconds of saving.

Best practices for product photos

DoAvoid
Clean, white or neutral backgroundCluttered or distracting backgrounds
Show the product from multiple anglesSingle front-only shot
Include lifestyle shot (product in use)Stock photo of similar item
Consistent lighting across all imagesMixed lighting between photos
Square or portrait crop (1:1 or 4:5)Landscape orientation
💡Tip

For handmade or craft products, lifestyle photos — showing the product being used or worn — dramatically increase click-through rate and conversions.

Reordering images

Drag the images in the Media section to reorder them. The first image is used as:

  • The thumbnail in product listings
  • The OG image when the product link is shared on social media

Removing images

Click an image to open it, then click the trash icon. The image is removed from the product but not immediately deleted from storage (it's cleaned up in the background).

Image limits

There's no hard limit on the number of images per product, but we recommend 4–8 images for optimal performance. Very high image counts can slow page load.
