Regions & Zones
Regions define where you ship to and at what rates. Each region groups one or more countries and has its own currency, tax rate, and shipping options.
Understanding regions
Think of a region as a shipping zone + currency bundle:
- Local region — your primary market, local currency, local payment methods
- Regional region — nearby countries, USD or local currency, standard shipping
- Global region — rest of world, USD or EUR, international rates
Most stores start with one region and expand as they grow.
Creating a region
Adding shipping options (rates)
Within a region, click Add shipping option:
- Name — what customers see (e.g. "Standard Delivery", "Express 24hr")
- Provider — Manual (you fulfill), or a connected fulfillment provider
- Price — Flat rate or calculated (based on weight/dimensions)
- Profile — which shipping profile this option applies to
Example: two shipping options for your primary region
- "Standard Delivery (3–5 days)" — flat rate
- "Express Delivery (24hr)" — higher flat rate
Payment providers per region
Each region can have different payment providers enabled. For Kenya stores, enable PesaPal. For international, you might enable a card processor.
Go to the region → Payment providers → toggle your payment provider on.
If a payment method isn't appearing at checkout, check that it's enabled on the correct region for the customer's country.
Tax rates and tax-inclusive pricing
Tax-exclusive — the tax is added on top at checkout. This is the default.
Tax-inclusive — the price already includes tax (e.g. "KSh 1,160 incl. VAT"). Set in the region settings.
Kenya VAT is 16%. If your store is Kenya-configured, this is pre-set. Confirm with your platform administrator if you're unsure.
